The world’s largest football boot will be unveiled today at Katara
Doha: The world’s largest football boot will be unveiled today at 6:30 p.m. at the Katara Cultural Village.
India’s Ambassador to the State of Qatar, HE Dr. Deepak Mittal, will be the chief guest of the event organized by Focus International, a leading international youth organization in association with Qatar Public Diplomacy.
The Managing Director of the Katara Cultural Village Foundation, Professor Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti; the President of the Indian Cultural Center (ICC), PN Baburajan; the CEO of the Katara Public Diplomacy Center (KPDC) and the Secretary General of the Global Public Diplomatic Network, Engineer Darwish Ahmed Al Shaibani; Guinness World Record holder and curator of the Big Boot, M Dileef; Shameer Valiyaveettil, CEO of Focus International, and other distinguished guests from different socio-cultural sectors will participate in the event.
The exhibition aims to express solidarity with Qatar’s efforts to highlight football as a sport that brings global brotherhood between nations and peoples.
The organizers also said the exhibition is a new saga in the tradition of Indo-Arab and international cultural exchanges.
The objective of the Big Boot exhibition is to show its support for Qatar’s efforts to highlight the contribution of football to the world as a sport and to the brotherhood between nations and peoples, and to introduce the tradition of cultural exchange between India and Arabia to the new generation.
The boot is designed by artist and curator M Dileef, Guinness World Record holder.
He is also the creator of the longest Quran in the world, the largest marker, a bicycle, a disinfectant, a screwdriver and many other “great” arts. The Big Boot is made of leather, fiber, resin, foam sheet, and acrylic sheet, and is 17 feet long and 7 feet tall.
The design work for the Indian-made boot was completed in Qatar.
