The UEFA Champions League group stage will end earlier than usual

The 2022/23 UEFA Champions League group stage will end earlier than usual to host the FIFA World Cup.
The last day of the phase will take place on November 1 and 2, twenty days before the start of the World Cup in Qatar.
Typically, the last games of the group stage are played in early December and then the competition takes a winter break of two and a half months.
This season’s break will last a month and a half longer, with action set to resume in mid-February 2023 in the Round of 16.
The final will take place at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul. The venue hosted the 2005 decider when Liverpool recovered from 3-0 to beat AC Milan in the ‘Miracle of Istanbul’.
