Tim Sherwood has said on Sky Sports News (1.30pm, January 22, 2022) that Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones is a fantastic player and is surprised to hear manager Jurgen Klopp’s comments about him.

The former Tottenham Hotspur manager says Jones needs to listen to his Liverpool manager Klopp.

BT Sport quote Klopp as saying Jones is ‘clearly huge talent’ but said the 20-year-old midfielder needs ‘a boost’.

Sherwood said of Jones on Sky Sports News (1.30pm, January 22, 2022): “He’s a fantastic player. He has all the attributes. Very surprised that Jurgen said that, but he says that for a reason because he sends a message.

The former Aston Villa boss added: “The lad has to take that into account and realize that something is bothering the manager, he has to fix it.”

Curtis Jones must listen to Liverpool boss Klopp

In our opinion, Jones needs to listen to his Liverpool manager Klopp and do what he says.

Liverpool have a very solid midfield.

Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago are some of the best midfielders in the world.

So, one can understand that it’s not easy for a young player like Jones to break into the starting XI week after week.

However, Jones is only 20 and has plenty of time ahead of him.

Training under players like Thiago and Fabinho and working under a world-class manager like Klopp will only help Jones in his progression and development as a manager.

The Liverpool no. 17 has made four starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League so far this season.
