Salah’s emerging photos from Sunday will break the hearts of Liverpool fans – our take

Mohamed Salah has long been accused of being selfish at Liverpool.
Last year, Graeme Souness remarked that the Reds striker was the most selfish footballer he had ever met.
And only last month Alan Shearer used that same S-word to describe the Liverpool striker.
But heartbreaking photos from Anfield on Sunday show that while the 29-year-old likes to score goals, it’s nothing to him compared to team honours.
Salah fired Jurgen Klopp’s side into a 2-1 lead over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the 84th minute as Anfield erupted.
That’s because at the time it looked like the goal that would win Liverpool the Premier League title – and the jubilation on his face certainly suggested he felt that way too.

What the players and many fans inside Anfield didn’t know at the time was that Ilkay Gundogan had scored around the same time to give Manchester City a 3-2 lead. on Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium, after being 2-0 at Steven. Gerrard’s kit with 15 minutes left.
And ultimately, Gundogan’s goal – his second of the day after coming on as a substitute – would prove enough as Klopp’s side missed out on the title. [BBC Sport].
Salah won playmaker of the year and shared the golden boot with Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min, but the contrast between euphoria and utter devastation perfectly demonstrates that despite all the talk of the Egyptian international on selfishness, individual awards mean nothing to him when bigger and bigger awards are stolen from him and his teammates.
Here are the post-match images that will break the hearts of some Reds fans.
