Solskjaer unhappy with Villa’s goal

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side lost 1-0 at home to Aston Villa and he was unhappy with Courtney Hause’s goal.

Speaking after the game, Solskjaer told the BBC: “You can take it when it’s a good goal conceded against you, but it’s offside.

“He touched David as he was leading the ball. How it’s a goal and Leicester haven’t scored their goals, I just can’t see the consistency and it’s clearly offside.”

Full time at Old Trafford

Manchester United 0-1 Aston Villa: VERY late drama at Old Trafford. Courtney Hause’s header in the 88th minute gave Villa the three points. But Manchester United could have equalized in the third minute of added time after being awarded a penalty, but Bruno Fernandes put him above the bar. It’s four out of five defeats for the Solskjaer team.

This is the first time that Villa has beaten the Red Devils since December 2009!

Guardiola regrets the lack of striking options

Pep Guardiola says his team don’t have the advantage of a striker and has admitted they need to get goalscoring contributions in other positions.

Manchester City were interested in acquiring Harry Kane’s services over the summer but the England international ultimately stayed with Tottenham.

Speaking ahead of today’s game, Guardiola said: “These are the hardest players to get. We have been privileged to have Sergio (Aguero) for so many years, but unfortunately the year last he suffered serious injuries.

“We survived without him in a way, but when we played with him we had something more. We have exceptional players but we don’t have that weapon that other teams like United or Chelsea or Tottenham.

“We have to use what we can as a team. We don’t have a player who can score 25 goals for himself, so we have to do it as a team, and that’s what we’re going to try this season.”

Tuchel: It’s not me against Pep

Chelsea have beaten Manchester City three times during the reign of Thomas Tuchel, including the Champions League final in May. Thomas Tuchel insists, however, that today’s game is not a battle between him and Pep Guardiola.

Speaking in his press conference on Friday, the Chelsea boss said: “It wasn’t that long ago that there were a lot of voices telling me I didn’t know how to beat Pep.

“It’s not between me and him anyway, we don’t play a tennis or chess match tomorrow, we play with our teams and they compete at a very high level.”
