The list of players with the greatest impact has been reduced to five.
Yorman Polas Bartolo, Gabriel Olaseni, Bryant Crawford, Nikola Tanaskovic and Maurice Kemp stood out in Week 3 of the Basketball Champions League regular season, as announced on Saturday.
Fan votes will determine the best player of the week.
According to the press release: “Sixteen teams were in action in week three of the seventh Basketball Champions League season. We put together a poll of the five most influential players and asked fans who the player of the week was.
We narrowed down the list to five names, using the Viziball Advanced Stats system. These five guys have been the most impactful in their teams’ wins this week. Miro Bilan of Peristeri bwin got the most votes in week one, Zoltan Perl of Falco Vulcano Szombathely was the fan favorite in week two.
Yorman Polas (MHP RIESEN)
The great Cuban striker is indestructible. Already 37 years old, but still capable of making big numbers and completely changing the course of the game, all on his own. MHP leader RIESEN had 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field, along with 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals to lead the Ludwigsburg side to a big road win over Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem.
Gabriel Olaseni (Darussafaka)
In 2017, Great Britain played in the FIBA EuroBasket group stage in Istanbul, and Gabriel Olaseni was so good that he ended up leading the efficiency stats for the entire event. Olaseni obviously likes the air in Istanbul, he’s at home with Darussafaka, and against Bakken Bears he nearly scored a triple-double, picking up 20 points, 12 rebounds and 7 cents.
Bryant Crawford (Igokea m:tel)
Igokea beat ERA Nymburk and had a few players with big games. One of them is Bryant Crawford, 25, who had a BCL season-high 33 points on the night, shooting 13 of 18 from the field, delivering 8 assists and stealing the ball three times.
Nikola Tanaskovic (Igokea m:tel)
The other impressive player from Igokea was another 25-year-old Nikola Tanaskovic. The athletic forward with endless wingspan did a bit of everything, finishing with a whopping double-double of 16 points and 15 rebounds, becoming the 15th player to score at least 15 and 15 in the Basketball Champions League.
Maurice Kemp (Bnei Ofek Dist Herzliya)
The Israeli newcomers picked up their first win in the BCL, coming off a double-digit deficit and storming to a five-point victory over Rytas Vilnius. Maurice Kemp finally got that W he wanted after landing six Ls in his first six BCL games with Fuenlabrada and Herzliya. He had 23 points on 8-of-10 shooting, and the Israel State Cup winners were +21 with him on the floor.
Voting for Fan Favorite Player of the Week is open until Sunday at 5:00 p.m. CET.
