Liverpool news and transfers LIVE – Federico Chiesa wanted, contract Dusan Vlahovic, interest from Allan Saint-Maximin

Liverpool ‘target’ offered mega contract
Fiorentina leader Dusan Vlahovic has been heavily linked with a move this summer and the Italian side are doing everything they can to make sure he stays put.
Liverpool were one of the clubs reportedly interested in the Serbian who has scored 21 goals in 37 Serie A appearances.
However, in a bid to fend off other clubs, Fiorentina offered the striker a massive five-year contract worth £ 35million, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 21-year-old’s current deal ends in 2023 and so, if he doesn’t put pen to paper on a new contract, Vlahovic could be available for a reduced price.
Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso told reporters:
I don’t know if he will sign, let’s all be calm.
We’ve been working on it for months, some days are more positive than others. I talk to Dusan and he says he is only focusing on the pitch and I should talk to his agents, then I talk to his agents and they say I need to talk to the player.
His agent should come to Florence, he’s the one doing the negotiations. What I will say is that it would be the highest salary ever given to a Fiorentina player including Gabriel Batistuta and Manuel Rui Costa.
I told Dusan he was taking a huge risk not to sign this agreement. We are offering him a five-year contract worth 40 million euros (£ 35 million). I had to work a whole year to earn what he would earn in two or three days. I don’t know how football got to this stage.
