Hakim Ziyech refuses to look back on Chelsea’s past Champions League success, reiterating that he and his team-mates are focused on winning again this season as they prepare to face Real Madrid.

The Blues were drawn against the La Liga side in the quarter-finals and if they progress they will face either Manchester City or Atletico Madrid.

Addressed exclusively to Chelsea’s 5th Stand appZiyech admitted they couldn’t look back on their past successes as they wanted to retain their title.

He said: “Everything comes quickly one behind the other. There is not much time to enjoy it. We won the Champions League last year, but we can remember it like yesterday or the day before, but this is not the goal at the moment.

“We are still in three leagues, that is our main objective. There are two leagues where we really want to win the trophies again.”

Chelsea beat LOSC Lille home and away 4-1 on aggregate to advance to the quarter-finals and hope to lift the European trophy again this season.

However, it won’t be easy as they face Real Madrid, who eliminated Paris Saint-Germain from the tournament in the previous round.

The Moroccan is keen to add to the titles Chelsea have already won this season after lifting the UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup earlier in the season.

“We want to win the two cups we’re still in. The league isn’t really realistic so what we’re really playing for if you’re talking about trophies is the FA Cup and the Champions League, of course,” he concluded.

Chelsea host Real Madrid on April 6 before traveling to the Bernabeu on April 12, with the winner of the encounter advancing to the last four.
