Georgia Soccer Player Card: Running Back Daijun Edwards
Running back Daijun Edwards (# 33):
Class: Second year
Weight: 201 pounds
Birthplace: Moultrie, Georgia
High school: Colquitt County High School
Georgia Bulldogs running back Daijun Edwards finished the 2020 college football season with 218 rushing yards on 37 carries. Edwards has played in nine of Georgia’s ten games and saw extra playing time after Kendall Milton suffered a knee injury.
Edwards has only registered one reception for three yards, so he will need to continue working on that aspect of his game to increase his future NFL Draft supply.
Daijun Edwards arrived in Athens as a four-star rookie in the 2020 class. The Colquitt County product has been ranked anywhere between No.13 and No.33 as the nation’s top running back.
Edwards will be competing with Kendall Milton, Zamir White, James Cook, Kenny McIntosh and more for playing time. Georgia returns all of their best rushers from last season.
James Cook is the most explosive player in the group and is a great pass catcher, but he’s not as polite between tackles as Zamir White. McIntosh is a versatile back, very elusive. Milton, a former five-star rookie, is powerful like Nick Chubb and has a high ceiling.
Edward posted flashes of a rugged, harsh style on tape. Edwards has spent a lot of time playing throughout his high school career in Colquitt County and is quite experienced.
Here’s a look back at his first career touchdown for the Bulldogs:
#Dawgs Delighted to see Moultrie’s Daijun Edwards score his first collegiate touchdown…
And receive lots of love from Zeus, Kendall Milton and his teammates!
