Champions League outfit targets £ 200,000 a week Spurs ace
Spurs midfielder Tanguy Ndombele is said to be on Barcelona’s radar, according to Sport.
Spanish media claim Tottenham’s ace is on Ronald Koeman’s wishlist as he looks to sign a new midfielder next year.
Spurs made Ndombele their record signing in July 2019, joining Tottenham for £ 54million.
However, the £ 200,000 a week man’s time at N17 hasn’t really gone smoothly.
After a difficult first season at Tottenham, Ndombele became a regular starter under Jose Mourinho last season.
However, the Frenchman fell back on the bench under Ryan Mason and was slow to defeat Nuno Espirito Santo.
Ndombele struggled to make much of an impact in Spurs’ win over Aston Villa last time around, exiting in the 76 minutes.
Barcelona were linked with the 24-year-old last year, while this summer the player reportedly wanted to leave Spurs.
Koeman is apparently also watching Marcelo Brozovic, Franck Kessie and Donny van de Beek.
Barca have started the season badly, sitting ninth in La Liga and the bottom of Group E in the Champions League.
Ndombele’s time at Spurs has seen its ups and downs – he’s a talented player, but he had team spells amid the odd question about his fitness.
As Tottenham’s signing record there will be pressure for him to succeed, both on the player himself and on the club who have spent a significant amount of money on him.
He appears to have won Nuno and, after missing the first games of the season, started the last three in the league.
Things seem to be on the right track and there’s a good chance Spurs won’t want to move him mid-season.
