3 Georgia Bulldogs named to Outland Trophy watch list
Georgia football has three players named to the Outland Trophy watch list ahead of the 2022 season. The award is given to the country’s top lineman.
defensive lineman Jalen Carteroffensive tackle broderick jones and offensive guard Warren Ericson represent the Dawgs on the roster.
Rising junior Jalen Carter is widely considered one of the top 5 NFL 2023 Spring Draft prospects and was named the best defensive lineman in all of college football by Pro Football Focus (PFF).
It’s no surprise to see the preseason All-American named here.
Former five-star rookie Broderick Jones made the Coaches Freshman All-SEC team last season after appearing in all 15 games, starting four of them in place of an injured Jamaree Sayer.
Jones is also considered to be at the top of the NFL draft boards and will be quarterback Stetson Bennett’s definitive protector.
Rising senior Warren Ericson is currently battling for a spot up front with teammates Xavier Truss and Devin Willock.
The former four-star rookie stepped into a starting role when starting guard Tate Ratledge fell in the 2021 season opener and went on to start 14 games at right guard, while playing center snaps in five of these matches.
